Gestalt

Gestalt psychotherapy is a relational and experiential form of therapy that focuses on your lived experience — how you feel, think, and sense your body in the present moment. Rather than analysing problems or searching for quick fixes, Gestalt therapy offers space to slow down, notice what is happening for you, and explore it with curiosity and care.

In sessions, attention is given not only to what you talk about, but also to how you experience yourself and others as you speak. This might include emotions, physical sensations, habitual patterns, and ways of relating. By becoming more aware of these experiences, new understanding and choices can naturally emerge.

Gestalt therapy recognises that past experiences and future concerns often show up in the present moment — in relationships, emotions, and bodily responses. Working with what is happening now allows these patterns to be explored safely and meaningfully, without pressure to change before you are ready.

The body is an important part of the therapeutic process. Paying attention to physical sensations can help deepen awareness, support emotional regulation, and bring a greater sense of grounding and connection.

At the heart of Gestalt therapy is the therapeutic relationship. The work is collaborative and dialogical, with the therapist meeting you as a person rather than an expert analysing from a distance. Therapy becomes a shared exploration, supporting authenticity, self-acceptance, and growth.
